Anita Borg Memorial Canada

Dr. Borg was an American computer scientist who created the Institute for Women and Technology, now called the Anita Borg Institute for Women and Technology.

She pioneered the door for women to pursue careers in computing and technology. Google is providing this scholarship in her honor.

Requirement:

You must intend to pursue a bachelor’s, master’s, or doctoral degree in computer science, computer engineering, or a closely related technical discipline at a university in the United States or Canada.

 

Prize value:

The fellowship provides US10,000 to candidates with a solid academic background and leadership potential for the forthcoming academic year.

Dr. Marco Adria Award for International Graduate Students in Communications and Technology

 

Eligibility

You are eligible for this scholarship if you are an international student on a Study Permit enrolled in a graduate degree program in Communications and Technology in the Faculty of Extension or participating in an international academic exchange at the University of Alberta.

Recipients are chosen based on their academic status. A recipient can receive the award just once.

If no appropriate candidates are found in a particular year, the award will not be granted.

This prize is given as a tuition remission to the recipient’s autumn term fees account.

It is:

• Available to international citizens with Canadian study permits.
• Available to applicants in Ph.D. programs.
